[Tutorial] How To Root & Flash TWRP Recovery On Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 Developer Edition

Samsung Galaxy S5 is the beast flagship device from Samsung, It have been now with major carriers such as Verizon, T-Mobile etc. Now some flagship also comes with Developer Edition. The developer edition is somehow a little different from other normal devices. It comes with unlocked bootloader so that the developers can test their ROMs. Apps etc with no worries.

Here we came with the Developer Edition Of Samsung Galaxy S5 which is from Verizon network carrier. We will now Flash a Custom Recovery called "TWRP Recovery" (Team Win Recovery Project). This recovery also works as CWM Recovery but the UI is change and some other minor changes is included. As you know Recovery help us to Flash ROMs, Package Files, Themes, Apps, system permissions etc. In this tutorial we will also root our developer edition of Galaxy S5. Root access also allows us to have full control on the OS. Just follow the below steps:


Before You Begin: (must do)
1. Drivers must be installed on your PC, please install the following:
a. Samsung USB Drivers    b. Samsung Kies


Downloads:
1. openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.0-klte.tar
2. Odin.zip
3. SuperSU.zip


Flashing Recovery:
1. Download the above files.
2. Turn off your smartphone, Restart in in Download mode by press and hold Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button at the same time, don't leave the buttons until you see a Warning screen, when Warning screen appears leave all buttons and press Volume Up Button to continue to download mode.
3. Open Odin.
4. Connect your smartphone to PC via USB cable.
5. Added! message will be shown in the message box of Odin, that means your device is properly connected.
6. Click PDA button and choose the openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.0-klte-.tar file and click Start.
7. Success message will be shown. Your recovery will be flashed successfully.
8. To go into Recovery, Hold Volume Up + Home Button + Power Button when the phone boots and Samsung Logo appears, release buttons. Your device will boot in recovery mode.


Rooting Device:
1. Now move the SuperSU.zip file to the internal storage of device.
2. Reboot your device in Recovery mode.
3. In Recovery mode, Install zip from sdcard > Choose zip from sdcard and find the Supersu.zip file. Click that file and Swipe to install it.
4. After installation reboot your system.


Having Problem:
1. If the Added! message in Odin is not shown so the device is not properly connected and not supported
